Want to drive animals around? These jobs don’t come along every day, but there are a couple of online platforms that will help you advertise your availability to, say, transport somebody’s German Shepherd across country. Or, pick up pets for doggie daycare and/or an overnight stay.

Rover

The first and best site for anything animal-related is Rover. Rover allows freelancers to list their services as dog-walkers, pet-sitters, groomers, and pet transport. You set up a profile, stating your rates and services. The site charges a 20-25% fee for doing your marketing and collecting payment on your behalf. You can find out more about Rover here.

Or you can sign up to be a Rover sitter/here. (Rover is a SideHusl affiliate. This means we could earn a commission if you sign up.)

Citizen Shipper

Citizen Shipper is designed for two things — longish-haul truckers who have extra room in their truck bed to make additional on-the-way deliveries– and for delivering pets. You negotiate directly with people looking to ship things, determining whether you’ve got the interest, room, and whether they’re willing to pay reasonable freight. You also collect payment directly from the shipment recipient. The site charges you a monthly listing fee and charges a fee to the shipper too. It also has a handy tool to help you find other on-the-way deliveries. Find out more about Citizen Shipper here.

uShip

uShip connects people wanting to ship both furniture and animals with the truck-owners/drivers who are willing to take the job. You set your own rates; the site takes just a 20% commission for doing the marketing and collection for you. More on uShip here.
