What is Pinnacle Surrogacy?

Pinnacle Surrogacy matches intended parents from around the world with surrogates, willing to carry a baby to term. It also helps structure surrogacy contracts and pay.

How it works

If you’re a woman of child-bearing age, you can register with the site to see if you meet the requirements to be a surrogate. These requirements include:

• be under the age of 40
• have completed at least one uncomplicated pregnancy and kept the child
• have had no more than 5 previous pregnancies; and no more than 3 C-sections
• be physically and mentally healthy
• financially stable
• a non-smoker, who does not take drugs or abuse alcohol
• be willing to “reduce” a pregnancy, if it’s medically advised and the intended parents agree

The site also will do a full medical and psychological screening to make sure you are a good candidate.

Assuming everything looks good, you would be presented with profiles of families looking to become parents through surrogacy. If you see a profile that you’d find compatible, that family will be presented with your information to see if you can match.

If they’re intrigued with you, as well, the site will set up either an in-person or online meeting.

Once matched

If both surrogate and intended parents decide they want to go ahead with the deal, the site will help both through the legal process that spells out each parties rights and responsibilities.

This includes both parties signing a legal contract that spells out when and how the fertilized egg will be implanted. It will cover what medical appointments the surrogate will need to attend and the medications the surrogate will need to take. It also should have contingency clauses for things like required bed rest and what happens if the surrogate miscarries.

Payments

Likewise, this contract spells out the payment schedule for the surrogate. This will include a monthly allowance, that typically starts when the egg is implanted and continues until after the baby is born. Surrogates also get reimbursed for expenses, which include lost wages (for medical appointments, bed-rest and a postpartum period), travel and maternity clothing.

Payments to surrogates typically range from $50,000 to $60,000 for a first-time surrogate. Payment can be considerably more for surrogates who have successfully completed the process before.

Recommendations

If you have already had one child and are now are interested in surrogacy, Pinnacle is one of several agencies that’s worth checking out. You can find Pinnacle here. However, a site called ConceiveAbilities may pay more. According to the site’s surrogacy fee calculator, surrogates here earn anywhere between $50,000 and $80,000 — before expenses. Second-time surrogates earn more.
