If you want to sell the crafts, jewelry, custom furniture and other products that you make through an established site, the best choice is probably Etsy. However, Amazon Handmade may be a viable choice, depending on what you’re selling.
Etsy
Etsy is one of the oldest and best-established sites to sell anything handmade. The site draws hundreds of millions of page views each month, giving artists millions of opportunities to draw customers. You determine how to make, price and ship your wares. Etsy just provides the marketing and payment collection. But you need to budget for the site’s fees, which are generally 6.5% but can amount to as much as 25% of revenue if your buyer comes in through an Etsy advertisement.
The only craft item that we don’t recommend you sell on Etsy are greeting cards. If you want to find the best places to sell greeting cards, click here.

Amazon Handmade
Amazon Handmade is open to artisans who make accessories, artwork, baby, beauty & personal care, clothing, shoes & handbags, home, outdoor & home care, jewelry & watches, kitchen & dining, pet supplies, sporting goods, stationery & party supplies and toys & games. If you don’t see your category listed, it’s not supported by the site.
To sell on the site, you’ll need to open a professional selling account for $40 monthly. However, the site waives this fee for approved sellers after the first month. Amazon also charges a 15% commission on all sales. Read our full review of Amazon Handmade here.
