It can be tough to find dancing gigs, particularly if you don’t live in a big city that has plenty of theatrical choices. However, a handful of online platforms can help.

Ultimately, your goal is to find an agent, who believes in you and is well-connected. However, until then, your best bet is to sign on with a few platforms that can help get your name out and alert you to appropriate jobs. The two best:
Backstage
Technically, you can sign up for job alerts with Backstage for free. But if you want details and the ability to apply, you need to subscribe. Subscription prices are reasonable — usually less than $100 a year (thanks to promotions) — and the job alerts are copious. Naturally, they’re not all dancing roles. Some involve acting in movies, television series and commercials. You can read our full review on Backstage here.

Actor’s Access
Actors Access is the one of the few acting/casting-job websites that allow you to put up a profile without paying a monthly fee. Like other sites that offer a free profile, Actors Access will try to convince you to sign up — for $68 annually — for a premium service. But you don’t need the premium service to put up headshots, a resume and basic profile information, including your age, height and weight (which casting directors need). Read our full review on Actors Access here.
