Spare5 Review:

Spare5 is a survey and “micro-task” app that pays pennies for things like answering survey questions, identifying keywords or writing clever captions. The work isn’t hard, but the pay is almost nothing. You also give up a lot of personal privacy to participate.

The site sends payments every Friday through PayPal, but you must accumulate at least $1 in earnings to get paid. And given how little you’re paid for each job, that may be hard to do.

In short, this supposed side hustle is a huge waste of your time.

Stuck on jury duty?

The only justification I can see for using this app (or similar ones, like Mechanical Turk) is that you’re stuck in an airport or jury duty, with nothing to entertain you except your cell phone.

When that’s the case, you might also want to check out Swagbucks and Survey Junkie. I understand that these apps are at least entertaining.
