What is WinnWinn Research?

WinnWinn Research is a market research firm that enlists individuals to participate in focus groups paying $25 – $300 per hour.

How it works

Potential participants sign up, providing a wealth of information about who you are, your family status, and income. The site also wants to know where you bank, what social media sites you use, what electronics you have at home, and whether you smoke.

The site then contacts you when it has a study that it thinks you might qualify for.

However, you’ll probably have to answer another series of qualifying questions for each potential study.

WinnWinn Research review:

WinnWinn Research enlists individuals to participate in focus groups and other one-on-one consulting opportunities. Like other armchair consulting firms, WinnWinn pays generously when you happen to meet the criteria for a specific study — anywhere from $25 to $300 for 15-minutes to a few hours of work. And, the work typically involves answering questions about your personal preferences.

And unlike survey sites, such as Survey Junkie, Swagbucks and Qmee, WinnWinn does not share your personal information with anyone other than the specific client that you’re enlisted to help.

Lots of questions

That said, where you can easily find a paying survey with sites like Swagbucks, the work is relatively rare here. You might get contacted about a focus group or online survey with WinnWinn once or twice a week. And, even with those, you might not qualify after answering additional screening questions.

That’s ultimately because focus groups are often looking for very specific survey participants — people with a high level of familiarity with a particular product or service. And the market researchers will want to dive deep into what, for instance, plays into your purchasing decisions. Are you affected by packaging, labeling, affiliations, or price?

What specific services would make you pay a premium price for a credit card, for example? Are you loyal to one financial services company and, if so, why? These responses are used by companies that want to penetrate niche markets — people who spend more than $10,000 annually traveling, for instance. And, thus, they’re willing to pay very good money for your time when you happen to match the right profile.

Clear direction

Each time you’re contacted about a study, you’re given the main particulars, including who the study targets, when the sessions will be held and how long the survey will take. You’re also told just how much you’ll get paid and what payment method or methods can be used.

Recent examples

Some of the surveys they were recruiting for in late May 2024, included:

  • Gig economy drivers: 1.5 hour online session, paying $150 via PayPal or Visa gift card.
  • Banking and finances survey: 90 minute Zoom call, paying $200 paid via PayPal, Venmo or Visa gift card.
  • Business account research: 60 minute online study, paying $400 via PayPal.
  • Grocery shopping study: 60 minute online interview, paying $125 via virtual Visa gift card.
  • Baby Doll research: In-person studies, operating in Dallas and Chicago, paying $150 via PayPal for 90-minute session with a parent; $200 for a 75 minute session with a parent and child.

Pay

Participants are typically paid 15 days following completion of the study.

Recommendations

The site offers good pay for light work. We like it a lot. If you want to sign up with WinnWinn Research, you can sign up here.

Also consider signing up with Maven, Respondent, UserInterviews, and RarePatientVoice. These sites all offer similar opportunities and since none promises regular work, it’s smart to sign up with them all.

What their users say:

We see almost no complaints about this site. The one exception below involved the woman walking away satisfied.

One woman complained to the Better Business Bureau that a research study, that was supposed to pay $250, was cancelled without notice. She asked for, and received, full compensation for the study.
