Review
Open Influence is a digital marketing firm that matches social media influencers with brands. The site invites these social media “creators” to sign up and state their realms of influence. It could be math, science, health for nursing mothers, Latin culture — you name it. Feel free to get as granular as you want. When a brand is looking for a campaign that fits your profile, Open Influence will contact you with an offer.
Offers are detailed in both what they expect of the influencer and how much you’ll earn to participate. By and large, the work involves creating a social media post, whether that’s a video for TikTok or a photo for Instagram. The value of the contract is likely to depend on the advertiser’s budget, the size and engagement of your following. Even if your following is relatively small, if your followers are highly engaged, you could command a nice contract, says Eric Dahan, the site’s CEO.
Payments run from a few hundred dollars to several thousand. But unless you’re a big name, you shouldn’t expect frequent gigs. Between 1% and 2% of the site’s influencers have contracts at any given time, according to Dahan.
Recommendations
Open Influence is one of many influencer marketing firms. This advertising medium is becoming increasingly popular as social media sites continue to grow in both size and diversity. If you have a clear niche and have developed a following, you may want to sign up here and with one or two other reputable social media marketing agencies. Make sure, however, that you read your contract carefully to be sure you’re comfortable with all requirements.
