Outschool
Outschool is an online teaching platform that takes a different approach to learning. Instead of teaching a set curriculum and testing against a grade standard, the site encourages teachers to offer classes that spark the imagination. Classes can be offered as single-sessions or as a series, and they may or may not result in improved grades. Teachers sign up for free; build a curriculum; set a schedule and price. It’s our top choice for teaching side hustles.
Once a class is approved teachers can start selling it on the site. Popular classes can bring in thousands of dollars in monthly revenue. There’s no cost to list classes here, but Outschool takes a 30% commission from your revenue when you sell. Learn more about Outschool here.

Teachable and Thinkific
Teachable and Thinkific are both platforms where you can create your own teaching side hustles. Both sites allow you to use their software to create a class of your choosing. You can teach skills, academics — you name it. And both sites have nice guides that can show you how to put together your curriculum and find buyers for your classes. The only challenge? While these sites will host your classes, the marketing is up to you. You can generally put your content on the site for free and just pay a commission when classes sell. However, if you generate a lot of sales, it can be cheaper to pay a monthly fee instead. But, the choice is yours.
